Gank & positioning
What strikes out for me and what we never or rarely do is...
The moment Jaina is bursted down (cause she overextended) they focus on Khael'thas.
Result ? A trade.
Nobody runs. You don't even see the outnumered team running. Because they know they have to get that trade in and they know how. Nobody is afraid. Nobody is stressed.
Also pay attention to when the gank started to be called. First you see blue team pushing 3v2 top.
Then you notice on minimap red team is moving top with 2 people : anub and khael. I marked Khael with a red circle. But Anub is coming as well now...
So notice a couple of things here please:
a) red leaves middle lane open. Why ? To equalise the 3 on top with 3 ppl (outnumber with aba is a bit overstating it) and get a kill in.
b) blue team starts moving to their side of the lane again. Why ? Because Johanna called MIA on anub
Ok so how does the gank get initiated and how is it countered exactly ? Lets see...
First Khael and Anub are checking right bush oppurtunity. There is none. Blue moved to the left and Jaina is obviously the target. So red ganking squad moves to left bush.
Now when is the right time to initiate ? Jaina is already in high danger right now. Who initiates ? The stunner of course. So Muradin calls out the gank to his gank squad and inits with his Q...
After the stun Muradin jumps in (hence Unstoppable) and you see anub and khael moving in.
So they burst Jaina down, lets stop at the moment where we as blue team would start to run away and get scared.
Jaina half health. However... the difference is blue team was expecting the gank of course so I can imagine they already knew before it started that Khael'thas (Shad) would be the target to counter-kill. So Zagara, Jaina, and Brightwing all focus on Khael'thas now. This is the net result:
The reason Jaina is not dead yet and Khael is already below half health is Brightwing of course. She heals passively and she polymorphs (silenced) Muradin to counter his Q stun.
Because of that the gank ends in:
Boom ! Two people dead.
Thats how you should gank or counter a gank.
People being scared has a very detrimental effect. They not only would have not had the counter-kill. But red would have seen blue is scared running behind their gates and would have pushed a 3/4 v2 situation. Now instead its a stable situation for blue.
